Two 3"x5" index cards, glue stick, tempera paint, sponge, scissors,
your choice from the following: feathers, buttons, sequins,
small shells, pipe cleaners

1.

Fold the index card lengthwise so that it is now 11/2" x 5".
|

2.
|
Using the glue stick, glue it together.
|
|
|
3.
|
Cut out each letter of the word
 , sefer, book from the other index card.
|
|
|
4. |
Holding each letter on the folded index card, sponge paint around it.
Your bookmark will have a colored background and white letters.

Decorate the top portion of your bookmark, the part that will stick out
from the book, with feathers, buttons, sequins, etc.
|
|
|

|
Personalize your bookmark! If you like mysteries, glue some mysterious eyes
on a dark background. If you like books about the sea, decorate your bookmark
with shells. An animal lover can use feathers to make a bird, or use pipe
cleaners to make whiskers.
